Akua Moon

Wheatgrass grows inside the Quonset, looks like miniature forest of red-trunks and green canopy

Bracken fern makawalu through the slots of the vardo deck

The long stems of the Bracken

Alongside the Quonset Bracken leaflets have spread themselves

Red Alder, the Placeholder/Band-aid Clan of the forest. First to root after a forest is cut. Today they are leafing on all limbs.
The Akua Moon is a time for giving thanks to the Akua. Not a good time for planting or fishing. Depending upon your practice of counting the moon, there can be three or four full moons in the Hawaiian Moon Calendar. Akua is one of the four full moons we count in our practice. If it's clear we may see momona nui the fattening one.
