Beautiful clouds on a Kaloa morning

A beautiful patch of clouds and blue sky greet me as I step outside the Quonset. A shift in season may be? I love seeing clouds again. 'Ao clouds are often messengers arriving with something different, clouds are filled with Lono ... bringer of life-giving rain. I seek it out ...

Kaloa Ku Lua is a good time for fishing and planting (upright plants, like mai'a [banana], ko [sugar cane], ohe [bamboo], and wauke [mulberry]

I dreamt of my Ma last night, she was 'scolding' me. I woke very aware of her message, but, not clear about how to manage it. So I took myself through Saturn's (long-term lessons) and penciled my journey to gather clues. I turned around and looked for pieces of the journey I might have left undone; finished and forgotten lessons; guilt requiring release; amends to be made; relationships that serve or need to be severed?

Kaloa ao (Kaloa po clouds)

"How's the weather up there?" It was my nephew Kawika emailing me. "Sunny!" I wrote back, and sent him a photo of mahina in the sky at nearly awakea. Today, at that same near awakea, the sky is moving with long stretch of ao ...
Over to the left where I am standing, the streaks stretch. The wind must be playing. (That's my bruddah, David!)
Below, on the ground the gentle, and cool breeze moves the fingers of the ferns very slowly. A fan moving the air. Malia. The temperature is cool, the sun is bright. I feel the cool touch of wind on my bare calves and feet.

Eaglets soaring in a Kaloa sky

In the late afternoon sky I looked up to see seven eagles soaring overhead. With the camera, I could show you five of the seven. They were kinda close (Not really, see that tree top in the bottom of the photo? That is at least 150 feet tall). If you click on the picture for a closer look you might see there are no white feathered heads yet. These are probably the young eaglets, this year's hatch(?) catching the thermals and looking for food, or learning to hunt.

The Kaloa Po (Kaloa phases March 14, 15, 2015)

On the road near Useless Bay, new pony and on her feet.

Cherry blossoms are fully open and the songs of bees filled the air when we visited Tahoma-san/One Drop Zen Monastery in Freeland

Garden site is worked up and mulched, prepared for later plantings

The 'ohe (bamboo) are abundant at Tahoma-san/One Drop, we were there to harvest a couple stalks already cut.

Nettles are prolific, already calf high

A beautiful place to be
The weekend was wet, heavy rain especially Sunday. Big puddles of rain all around our tiny houses, no sounds from ravens or other birds.

Our solamente henny has been expanding her free-range territory. She showed up on the vardo porch this weekend; lonely for company.
